development and said, "To bring an end to all this, the police headquarters has
decided to purchase the uniform fabric, which would be dope-dyed, and give it to

(SITP) approved during the 10th Five Year Plan in 2005 has met with limited
success.According to him, a bigger necessity for the textile industry is
processing parks, with government funded or subsidised common affluent treatment
facilities. The rest are under various stages of completion, as per the ministry
data. But later on, it removed that incentive..Moreover, it is also felt that
the industry badly needs processing parks rather than mega parks at this stage.

"We are already in talks with some fashion designers and hopefully will venture
into making designer wear as well, hopefully in 2018.When the idea of Wonder
Tees was germinating, some of Baid’s friends did not believe that T-shirts could
be so light. It took some time to reach perfection," he says. "Generally,
T-shirts are made of polyester — a man-made fibre, production of which involves
huge quantities of water, chemicals and use of fossil fuels; moreover, the raw
materials and by-products are toxic and pollute water and air, causing several
health hazards," he explains. It is then baled, dyed and knitted into polyester
fabric.."We started on March 18, 2016. These T-shirts also have anti-microbial
and anti-static finishes."The waste generated in the process of manufacturing
the Wonder Tee is also treated and reused. Another thing I came across was this
very idea of making plastic into yarn and I knew I had to take this up and make
a difference," he says. A new material called Recycled Polyethylene
Terephthalate, RPET, has left organic cotton, considered to have the lowest
carbon footprint, way behind. The processing of this yarn was complex."We also
save 25 litres of water per T-shirt as the dyeing process is different.For those
looking for one of the most environment-friendly fabrics available these days,
an organic cotton brand won’t be the best stop anymore. But this T-shirt can be
worn in any weather," he adds.While the core product of his start-up company
Alcis Sports is Wonder Tee, Baid also plans to create other garments out of this

Surat, Anand Bhaskar Rapolu (Congress) said GST will disturb the handloom sector
and demanded that the sector should be removed from the ambit of the tax. In a
similar vein, TMC members Ahamed Hassan and Sukhendu Shekhar Roy also referred
to the strike by readymade garment shopowners in West Bengal.Joining the issue,
senior Congress MP Ahmed Patel said the textile traders were protesting on the
streets along with the workers of the unorganised sector. The matter was raised
during the Zero Hour with some MPs demanding that the textile sector should be
exempted from Goods and Services Tax net. He has also sought a detailed
discussion on the farmers’ issue. According to him, the imposition of GST on the
sector will make it uncompetitive. He said small and marginal traders were never
